The Hamilton College Continentals hosted Williams College for a men's rowing event on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Saturday afternoon.
"The duel racing format is a nuanced race experience for our athletes," Head Coach
James Lister said. "It's clear when you are up or down and how to work through both scenarios. What I enjoyed seeing from our crews is the willingness to battle back and forth. Our coxswains were asking for all from the rowers. We had a mix of wins and losses, but right now we want to focus on getting faster from each seat and each boat to make the fastest team.
"I want to thank our training room staff who got up early to get us through our testing. We don't get to do our sport without all their help. The organizational planning and preparation is quite amazing to see in action at 7 a.m. to get all the teams ready to go."
The Continentals head to Pittsfield, Mass., on Saturday, May 1 to race against Williams, Trinity and Wesleyan.
