Hamilton College coxswain
Timothy Bingenheimer '28 (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase HS) was selected a 2026 Empacher-Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) Men's All-American on Thursday, June 25 when the organization announced its list.
Â
Bingenheimer was placed on the honorable mention list. He was one of 24 Division III student-athletes designated as all-Americans.
Â
All-American rowers and coxswains must have raced in their team's varsity boat for the 2026 spring season, meet all eligibility rules defined by their institution, and be nominated by their institution. The student-athlete's head coach must be in good standing with the IRCA.
Â
All-Americans were selected by the IRCA Board of Directors based on strength of finish of the institution's varsity boat, nomination rank within the institution, and coach's comments, individual achievements and erg score.
Â
"Tim was instrumental in the team's progress and success this year," Head Coach
Anna Lindgren-Streicher said. "In his role as a coxswain, he tirelessly and productively held his boat to a high standard and was critical in building consistency at the top end of a young team. The team would not have made the forward progress it did this year without Tim's unflagging pursuit of excellence on the water and mentorship and guidance off the water."
Â
Bingenheimer directed a Hamilton boat that was ranked eighth in the final IRCA/Intercollegiate Rowing Association Division III V8+ top 15 poll of the season on May 22. The Continentals won the gold medal in the varsity eight at the New York State Collegiate Championships on April 18 and finished first in the petite final at the National Invitational Rowing Championship on May 10.
