WORCESTER, Mass. – The Hamilton College Continentals finished in seventh place out of eight teams in the 2026 NESCAC Men's Rowing Championship and landed in 10th place out of 15 teams in the 2026 National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, May 10.
The NESCAC used the results of the varsity eight races to determine its champion. The results of all the races figured into the NIRC Men's Point Trophy team standings.
Hamilton, which was ranked ninth in the May 6 Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association/Intercollegiate Rowing Association Division III V8+ Top 15 poll, captured first place out of six boats in the varsity eight petite final with a time of 6:30.658. Four of the six boats in the petite final were nationally ranked including Worcester Polytechnic Institute, which the Continentals edged by less than a second in 6:31.242. Hamilton posted a time of 6:39.430 in its heat Sunday morning. Trinity College (6:23.995), Tufts University (6:28.855) and Colby College (6:36.742) took the top three places and advanced to the grand final.
The Continentals finished in fourth place out of five boats in the second varsity eight petite final with a time of 7:17.886. Two of the five boats in the petite final were ranked in the IRCA/IRA Division III 2V8+ Top 10 poll including U.S. Coast Guard Academy, which finished first in 6:46.864. Hamilton posted a time of 7:34.554 in its heat Sunday morning. Trinity (6:24.385), Williams College (6:24.885) and Colby (6:46.157) took the top three places and advanced to the grand final.
