Jack Fried '25 (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck HS) was selected the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday, April 21.
Fried collected player of the week honors for the first time. On April 19 he made 13 saves, including five in the fourth quarter, in a 12-11 win against Connecticut College that clinched a spot in the NESCAC championship quarterfinals. Fried's last stop with 4.5 seconds left came on a low shot that would have tied the score and sent the game to overtime. He added two saves and allowed two goals in 21-plus minutes of a 21-6 victory at SUNY Oneonta on April 15. Fried moved into fifth place on the team's all-time list with 485 career saves.
Fried is fifth in the conference with 12.31 saves per game, sixth with a .544 save percentage and seventh with a 10.89 goals against average in 13 starts covering 741-plus minutes. He has also scooped up 28 ground balls.
Fried and the Continentals are 7-7 overall and ended up 4-6 in the NESCAC. Hamilton, which has won four of its last five, will know its conference championship quarterfinal opponent on Wednesday night, April 23.
