Four Hamilton College runners earned 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country All-Academic Athlete honors on Thursday, Jan. 30 when the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their list.
In order to qualify for all-academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
Taylor Harris '26 (New York, N.Y./Convent of the Sacred Heart), Sylvie Najarian '25 (Woodcliff Lake, N.J./Pascack Hills HS), Emily Pogozelski '26 (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City HS) and
Keira Rogan '28 (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Schuylerville Central School) were Hamilton's all-academic athletes. Harris has made it all three years and Najarian was on the list in 2023.
Rogan led the way in the NCAA Niagara Regional Championships at the Fredonia State University Cross Country Course by placing second out of 154 finishers with a 6-kilometer time of 21:18.8. Najarian was next in 16th place (22:57.2) and Harris was right behind in 17th place (22:57.3). Pogozelski ended up in 27th place in 23:22.4.
Rogan went on to earn all-America honors at the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind., by finishing in 15th place with a 6-kilometer time of 21:24.3.
The Continentals were also one of the USTFCCCA's 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country All-Academic Teams. In order to qualify for all-academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
Hamilton has a team GPA of 3.61. The Continentals have collected this award under Head Coach
Ellen Hull in each of the last 17 years.
