Field hockey moves up to ninth in this week's Division III coaches poll

Continentals go for their 10th win this season at Amherst on Saturday, Oct. 18

The Hamilton College Continentals moved up one spot from last week to No. 9 in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll that was released on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
 
Hamilton (9-3 overall) defeated Connecticut College 1-0 on Oct. 11 in the Continentals' lone game last week. Hamilton travels to Amherst College for a New England Small College Athletic Conference clash on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m.
 
Becky Felker '26 leads the Continentals with seven goals and 15 points, and Sammy Higgins '26 has a team-high four assists. Hamilton has scored 30 goals and allowed 16, and the Continentals average twice as many shots per game as their opponents.
 
Abby Griffin '26 (1.33 goals against avg., .704 save pct.) has started all 12 games and played 360 minutes in the cage. Kelly Janssen '28 (1.17 gaa, .724 save pct.) has filled in for Griffin at the start of the third quarter in all 12 games and has played 410 minutes. They have combined to post three shutouts.
