Women's tennis plays Bowdoin at Middlebury in NESCAC quarters on May 1

Continentals back in the conference championship for the fourth straight year

The Hamilton College Continentals travel to Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt., for the 2026 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Tennis Championship and play Bowdoin College in the quarterfinals on Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m.

The championship is planned to be held outside on Middlebury's tennis courts. In case of inclement weather this weekend, matches will be played at Middlebury's Nelson Indoor Courts and Middlebury Indoor Tennis (not on campus).
 
Hamilton finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-7, and the Continentals were 4-6 in the NESCAC. Hamilton ended up in seventh place in the conference standings and is the seventh seed for the championship. The Continentals are 47th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III computerized team rankings. Hamilton is in the NESCAC championship for the fourth straight year and aiming to reach the semifinals for the first time.
 
Bowdoin finished the regular season with an overall record of 11-6, and the Polar Bears were 8-2 in the conference. Bowdoin ended up tied for second place in the NESCAC standings and is the second seed for the championship. The Polar Bears are 11th in the ITA rankings and fourth in the NCAA Division III Region I rankings. Bowdoin, which defeated the Continentals 6-1 back on March 8, has never won a conference title but was the runner-up in 2004.
