Women's tennis drops regular season finale, will play in NESCAC quarters

Continentals finished seventh in the conference standings and play Bowdoin at Middlebury on Friday, May 1

CLINTON, N.Y. – Wesleyan University swept all the singles and doubles matches and the Cardinals defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 7-0 in NESCAC action at Hamilton's Tietje Family Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon, April 26.
 

Season Update

  • The Continentals (10-7, 4-6 NESCAC) ended up in seventh place in the conference standings. Hamilton, which is 60th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III computerized team rankings, was coming off a 6-1 win against Connecticut College on April 25.
  • No. 3 Wesleyan (15-2, 10-0) ended its regular season with an 11-match win streak.
 

How It Happened

The Cardinals won all three doubles matches and collected the team doubles point. They proceeded to take all six singles matches in straight sets.
 

Notes

The Continentals honored Lila Freeman '26, Samantha Rainero '26 and Hannah Walpole '26 during their two home matches over the weekend.
 

Next Match

Hamilton is the seventh seed for the 2026 NESCAC Women's Tennis Championship and plays No. 2 seed Bowdoin College (11-6, 8-2) in the quarterfinals at Middlebury College on Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m.
