Women's tennis picks up convincing NESCAC win over Conn. College

Continentals clinched a spot in the postseason with the 6-1 victory

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College won eight out of nine matches and the Continentals secured a comfortable 6-1 NESCAC victory against the Connecticut College Camels on Senior Day inside Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday, April 25.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (10-6, 4-5 NESCAC) is 60th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III computerized team rankings. The Continentals, who clinched a spot in the NESCAC championship quarterfinals, won on senior day for the third straight year.
  • Connecticut College (7-10, 2-7), which is 66th in the computerized team rankings, had won its previous two matches.
 

How It Happened

  • Four Continentals won their doubles and singles matches.
  • Hamilton swept all three doubles matches and earned the doubles team point.
  • Priyanka Challapalli '27 dominated at No. 2 singles, winning in straight sets and only dropping 2 games.
  • Samantha Rainero '26 followed with a quick victory at No. 4 singles and gave the Continentals a 3-1 lead.
  • Grace Qian '27 clinched the all-important fourth team point with a three-set triumph at No. 3 singles. Qian was also a winner at No. 2 doubles with Mona Farah '29.
  • Muhan Cui '28 and Sara Rock '29 simultaneously picked up wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Cui and Rainero teamed up for a victory at No. 3 doubles.
  • Hannah Walpole '26 and Challapalli won their No. 1 doubles match.
 

Notes

  • Hamilton has won its last six matches against Connecticut College dating back to 2019.
  • Farah and Qian improved their doubles record together to a team-best 7-4 in dual matches.
  • Cui and Rainero picked up their fourth win at No. 3 doubles in 2026.
  • Rock is 5-1 in singles matches this spring.
  • Rainero has a 9-4 record in doubles matches this spring.
  • Farah has a team-high 11 doubles victories in dual matches.
