Biography

What's a piece of advice that's shaped the way you face challenges?
During a very difficult point in my life, someone told me that endurance precedes explanation. It reminds me that clarity and comfort aren't necessary to keep going, but the discipline to keep moving forward is. Pain isn't a sign to stop; it's undeniable evidence that you're still in the fight. Always show up first, endure the discomfort, and trust that meaning will follow.

How do you like to spend a free afternoon?
I’d usually be out running (if it isn’t below freezing), or wandering around Barnes & Noble.

What’s a quality you really admire about a teammate?
Mona is probably one of the most friendly people I’ve ever met. She has an effortless way of making everyone around her feel comfortable. A funny example of this is when we once saw her hug her opponent after a match and weren’t even surprised, because it felt so on brand for her. We honestly thought she had just made a new friend, until we realized she already knew the girl!

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever traveled to?
I really enjoyed Maine. I grew up in the South, so experiencing a completely different part of the country (the cooler weather, the coastline, and the quieter pace) felt very refreshing.

Who was your tennis role model growing up?
Definitely my mother. She introduced me to the sport, and I’m grateful that I’ve been able to follow so closely in her footsteps, learning not just how to play, but how to appreciate the game and carry myself with the same passion and dedication she did.
