MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Middlebury College won all the singles matches in straight sets and the Panthers defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 7-0 in NESCAC action inside Middlebury's Nelson Recreation Center on Sunday, April 19.
Season Update
- Hamilton (9-6, 3-5 NESCAC) also dropped a 7-0 decision at Williams College on April 18. The Continentals are 49th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association computerized tennis rankings.
- The 11th-ranked Panthers (11-4, 7-1) won their fifth straight match.
How It Happened
Middlebury swept the three doubles matches and captured the doubles team point. The Panthers didn't lose any sets in the six singles matches.
Notes
Hamilton players were able to extend Middlebury to a 6-4 score in one of the sets at No. 2 singles and No. 3 singles.
Next Match
The Continentals play a home match for the first time since March 29 as Connecticut College (7-9, 2-6) visits on Saturday, April 25. The NESCAC match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
