Softball to play Williams at Tufts in NESCAC championship quarters

Sixth-seeded Continentals and third-seeded Ephs square off Saturday, May 11 at noon

The Hamilton College Continentals travel to Tufts University's Spicer Field in Medford, Mass., for a 2024 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Softball Championship quarterfinal against the Williams College Ephs on Saturday, May 11 at noon.

The winner of Hamilton and Williams plays the winner of Middlebury College and Bowdoin College in one of the semifinals on Saturday at 5 p.m. in this eight-team, single-elimination event.

Hamilton (16-19 overall) finished in sixth place in the NESCAC standings with a 9-9 conference record and the Continentals are the sixth seed for the championship. Hamilton split a doubleheader with the Ephs in Clinton, N.Y., back on March 30 as the Continentals won 4-3 in Game 1 before Williams prevailed 10-1 in five innings in the nightcap. Hamilton has lost its last five games going into this postseason.

The Ephs (20-11) ended up in third place In the conference standings with an 11-5 NESCAC record and Williams is the third seed for the championship. The Ephs are fourth in the NCAA Region I rankings. Williams has won nine of its last 10 going into the showdown with the Continentals.
