CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Nikki Dyche '28 went 3-for-3 with two RBIs in the Continentals' 7-1 win over the Amherst College Mammoths in game one of a NESCAC doubleheader at Hamilton's Loop Road Athletic Complex on Saturday, April 25. Amherst scored in the top of the seventh to win game two, 3-2.
Season Update
- Hamilton (9-24, 2-14 NESCAC) has split its last two conference doubleheaders.
- Amherst (9-21, 4-10) was swept last weekend at Trinity.
Game 1 (Hamilton wins, 7-1)
How It Happened
- Hamilton starting pitcher Yael Everett '28 recorded a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the third to keep the game scoreless, then the Continentals got on the board with two runs in the bottom of the frame. Singles by Sofia Santana '26 and Everett sandwiched around a walk by Alexis Mayer '26 loaded the bases, then Gaby Guerra '27 delivered a two-out single to center field and drove in Santana and Mayer for a 2-0 lead.
- Dyche ripped a leadoff single in the fourth and was driven in by Santana to extend the lead to 3-0.
- Alison Zorn '26 provided an RBI double down the left field line in the fifth to make it 4-0.
- Amherst scored its lone run in the sixth as Lulu Leppard deposited a triple to center field and crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Annie Katuska.
- The Continentals added three runs in the bottom of the sixth for a 7-1 advantage. Hadley Rogers '26 drove in Mayer with a single to left field, and Dyche hammered a two-run double to right field, scoring Rogers and Guerra.
- Everett stranded two runners on base during a scoreless top of the seventh to close out the win.

- Everett collected her team-leading fifth victory and eighth complete game of the season in the circle.
- Dyche reached base four times with three hits and a walk.

Game 2 (Amherst wins, 3-2)
How It Happened
- Amherst's Julia O'Connell drove in Lauren Ro with a bases-loaded walk in the top of the first for a 1-0 advantage. Aubrey Purvis '27 struck out the next batter to end the inning.
- Hamilton's Juliana Abraham '29 and Miranda Mosqueda '28 drew back-to-back bases-loaded walks in the bottom of the first to put the Continentals in front, 2-1.
- Abby Rebhan launched a solo home run to lead off the top of the second for Amherst and tied the game at 2-2.
- Hamilton put a runner on second base in the second, third, fifth and sixth innings, but were unable to score the go-ahead run.
- May Mishima poked a single to right center to lead off the top of the seventh for the Mammoths and scored the winning run on a ground ball by Dylan Briggs.
