FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Hamilton College women have been a force to be reckoned with throughout the 2024 season. Saturday, Nov. 16 was a day of reckoning for many in the region as the Continentals placed fourth out of 21 teams in the 2024 NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championships at the Fredonia State University Cross Country Course.
Keira Rogan '28 is a name that will be feared by all for her next three cross country seasons. She placed second out of 154 finishers with a 6-kilometer time of 21:18.8. Rogan, who has finished either first or second in six of seven meets, was 5.5 seconds behind race winner Penelope Greene of SUNY Geneseo.
Sylvie Najarian '25 came in 16th place in 22:57.2 after negative-splitting by more than 20 seconds in the last kilometer.
Taylor Harris '26 also came in hard at 17th place with a time of 22:57.3.
Emily Pogozelski '26 came up in 27th place in 23:22.4. Hamilton's top five was rounded out by
Mattie Dunlap '28 in 47
th place with a time of 23:50.6.
The Continentals finished with 109 points, just two points behind University of Rochester, which ended up in third place. New York University captured the team title with 32 points and SUNY Geneseo came in second with 36.
The NCAA championship selections will be released on Sunday, Nov. 17. The championship race will be at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 23, beginning at noon.
