Harris '26 impressive in NCAA women's cross country championship

Senior finished 77th out of 290 runners in her last cross country race for the Continentals

Taylor Harris '26 runs in the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 22.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Hamilton College's Taylor Harris '26 ended up in 77th place out of 290 finishers at the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship, which was held on the Roger Millken Cross Country Course at the Roger Milliken Center on Saturday morning, Nov. 22.
 
Harris posted a 6-kilometer time of 22:38.1 as she displayed impressive strength and conditioning in 70-degree heat. This was the fourth time she competed in the national championship, and she obliterated her previous-best finish of 158th place at the 2022 NCAA meet.
 
Harris finished the first 1,000 meters in 3:35 and was in 193rd place after two kilometers with a time of 7:18.1. She quickly moved her way up in the pack and was in 139th place at the midway point in 11:03.4.
 
Harris continued to make big moves in the fourth 1,000 meters and was in 101st place with an overall time of 14:45.6. After 5,000 meters she burst into the top 100 runners at 83rd place in 18:45.1. Harris' final 1,000-meter split time was 3:53.1 and she passed six more runners down the stretch.
