GENEVA, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Hannah Walpole '26 won her first two matches in the singles draw at the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Women's Northeast Regional Championships held at William Smith College on Saturday, Sept. 23.
 
Walpole is one of four Continentals competing in the championships. She defeated SUNY Oneonta's Sophia Schutte 6-2, 6-0 in the first round and cruised past Pratt Institute's Pallavi Verghese by the same score. Walpole will take on fourth-seeded Nicole Ridenour of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the third round at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.
 
In the doubles draw Walpole and Priyanka Challapalli '27 breezed to an 8-1 win against an Oneonta pairing in the first round. Challapalli and Walpole lost 8-5 in the second round against the draw's top seed – a duo from RPI.
