Farah '29, Qian '27 are in doubles semifinals at regional championships

Cui '28 and Pages '30 advanced to the third round in the singles draw for the Continentals

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Mona Farah '29 and Grace Qian '27 were winners in the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw and two Continentals advanced to the third round in singles play at the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women's Northeast Regional Championship hosted by Skidmore College on Friday, Oct. 2.
 
Farah and Qian, who are seeded third, edged Vassar College's Ona Pingitore Espelt and Sieun Lee by an 8-6 decision. Farah and Qian have won three matches in the tournament. They play in the semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 3.
 
Manasi Bedi '30 and Muhan Cui '28 also reached the quarterfinals where they fell to the top seed from Saint Francis University (Pa.), 8-4.
 
Cui is one of the four players seeded fifth through eighth in the main singles draw, and she cruised into the third round on Friday. Cui posted a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Rochester Institute of Technology's Tina Dong and didn't lose a game against Baruch College's Aishika Yadav.
 
Jessica Pagés '30 joined Cui in the third round after she outlasted The College of New Jersey's Zoey Albert in the first round in a third set super-tiebreaker, 10-7, and dropped just one game against University of Rochester's Noel Allen in the second round. Albert was one of the players seeded ninth through 16th.
 
The round of 16 and the quarterfinals for the singles draw are scheduled to be held on Saturday.
 
Farah, who was one of the ninth through 16th seeds, dropped the first set in her first round match against RIT's Emily Greb. Farah rebounded with a 6-0 decision in the second set and edged Greb 11-9 in the third set super-tiebreaker. Farah went to another third set super-tiebreaker in the second round against St. Lawrence University's Ariane Karera, but this time she lost 10-8.
