CLINTON, N.Y. – The Hamilton College Continentals swept the doubles matches and upended nationally ranked No. 22 Colby College 7-2 in a NESCAC match played inside Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday.
Hannah Apsey '25 and
Lauren Holtzman '23 are 12-2 as a doubles team after their win at the first flight.
Shannon Cicero '25 and
Hannah Walpole '26 still haven't lost in four matches as a pairing as they edged their second flight opponents in a tiebreaker.
Stephanie Pratt '25 and
Samantha Rainero '26 were victorious at third flight in their first match as doubles partners.
Holtzman, playing in her first match since last spring, improved her career singles record to 17-8 after a win at second flight. Pratt was a winner at third flight, Cicero surrendered just two games at fourth flight, and Rainero outlasted her opponent in a third set super-tiebreaker at sixth flight.
The Continentals were hosting Colby for the first time since 2019. Hamilton takes on No. 17 Bowdoin College at home for another conference match on Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m.
