Harris and Najarian were two of the seven individual qualifiers from the Niagara Region. The individual selections were the top seven finishers in the NCAA Niagara Regional championships and were not members of SUNY Geneseo and New York University. Geneseo was the region's automatic team qualifier and NYU was an at-large selection for the championship.
Harris also qualified for the national meet in 2022 as a first-year. She led the Continentals in 13
th place out of 145 finishers in this year's regional race with a personal-record time of 21:55.6 on Houghton University's 6-kilometer course on Nov. 11. Harris was Hamilton's top runner in each of the last four races, including the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) championships on Oct. 28. She landed in 11
th place out of 138 finishers with a time of 22:47.5 in the conference race. Harris made the all-NESCAC team for finishing in the top 14 at the conference championships and earned all-region honors for finishing in the top 35 at the regional race.
Najarian is in the NCAA championship for the first time. She grabbed the last qualifying spot after she passed six runners in the final 1,000 meters and finished 18
th in a personal-best time of 22:17.4 at the regional meet. Najarian earned all-region honors for the first time after finishing in the top 35 at the regional race.
