HAMILTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Samantha Rainero '26 captured the 'C' flight singles title in the 2023 Colgate University Women's Tennis Invitational, which was held on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.  

In addition to the hosts, the Continentals also played against Siena College. 
 
Rainero defeated Siena's Shelby Madeiros, 8-4 in the quarterfinals and picked up another 8-4 win in the semifinal against a Colgate opponent. Rainero outlasted Colgate's Eliza Podlas 6-7 (5), 6-4, 10-7 in the final. 
 
Grace Qian '27 and Priyanka Challapalli '27 cruised to 8-3 victories in consolation singles matches on Sunday and Saturday, respectively.
 
The doubles pairing of Hannah Walpole '26 and Qian collected a 6-3 victory in a consolation match against a Colgate opponent. Claire Cutler '24 and Challapalli also picked up a 6-4 consolation triumph in doubles against a Colgate duo. 
 
The Continentals wrapped up their fall season and will begin their spring schedule in March 2024.
