Women's tennis competes in day one of ITA Regional Championships

The Hamilton College Continentals competed on day one of the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women's Division III Northeast Regional Championships at William Smith College on Saturday in Geneva, N.Y.

In the singles draw Hannah Apsey '25 defeated New Jersey City's Giada Zorzan 6-4 and 6-0. Apsey dropped her first set 3-6 to New York University's Jimena Menendez but came back to win 6-4 and 10-7 in the second round. Apsey is slated to play Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Rani Jones in the third round on Sunday morning.

Stephanie Pratt '25 won her first round match 6-0, 6-0 against SUNY Geneseo's Julianna Schulz but dropped her second round match 6-1, 6-1 to Dakota Fordham of NYU.

Apsey teamed up with Lauren Holtzman '23 and the pair won their first round doubles match 8-0 against Rochester Institute of Technology's Gabby Donohue and Jacqueline Drozd. Shannon Cicero '25 and Kat Roberts '22 defeated Sophie Brown and Dana D'Onofrio from Union College, 8-3, in the first round. Results of second round doubles were not available as of Saturday night.
