Hamilton College placed third out of six teams in their own Short Course Invitational on Saturday morning. The meet was the first for the Continentals since 2019.
Liza Greene '22 led Hamilton by finishing in eighth place out of 81 runners with a time of 15:20.7 on the 4-kilometer course.
Mia Schiel '22 came in right behind Greene in ninth place and a time of 15:22.1.
Betsy Overstrum '24 landed in 17th place with a time of 15:46.6 and
Margaret Phipps '23 immediately followed her in 18th place with a time of 15:47.9. Overstrum and Phipps were competing in their first race.
Kristen Bitsberger '22 rounded out the Continentals' top five in 20th place and a time of 15:51.7.
Sylvie Najarian '25 gave Hamilton six finishers under 16 minutes as she finished 23rd in 15:57.1.
The Continentals finished with 72 team points. Nationally ranked No. 27 Ithaca College captured the team title with 29 points and St. Lawrence University, which received votes in the preseason coaches poll, was runner-up with 36.
Hamilton is off until Williams College's Purple Valley Classic on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Mount Greylock Regional High School. The women's race starts at noon.
