The Hamilton College Continentals finished in eighth place out of 11 teams at the 2021 NESCAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, which were held at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn., on Sunday afternoon.
Hamilton finished with 226 team points as its top five runners finished just 39 seconds apart. Nationally ranked No. 3 Williams College captured the team title with 51 points and No. 14 Middlebury College was runner-up with 59. No. 30 Colby College was third with 78 points, No. 31 Tufts University was fourth with 121 and No. 25 Bates College and Amherst College registered 141. Bates ended up in fifth place because its seventh runner finished ahead of Amherst's. No. 24 Connecticut College was seventh with 153 points.
Andrew Harrell '23 led the Continentals in 34th place out of 146 finishers with an 8-kilometer time of 26:27.2.
Max Steffey '22 landed in 38th place in 26:32.6 and
George Brady '23 was 45th with a time of 26:40.6.
Nick Lyon '22 took 53rd place and gave Hamilton four finishers under 27 minutes in 26:52, which was less than a second off his personal record.
Bram Mansbach '24 rounded out the Continentals' top five in 63rd place with a time of 27:06.6.
Hamilton is back on the course on Saturday, Nov. 13 when the Continentals compete in the 2021 NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Cross Country Championships at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, N.Y.
