WATERFORD, Conn. – On a windy morning on the Connecticut coast, the Hamilton College Continentals finished ninth at the 2025 NESCAC Cross Country Championships, hosted by Connecticut College at Harkness Memorial State Park on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Jack Quinn '27 went for broke and had his best race of the season, finishing in 47
th place out of 159 runners with an 8-kilometer time of 25:44.2.
Brady Armstrong '28, who was hampered by injury and illness before and during the early portion of the season, went out conservatively and moved up through the middle miles. Armstrong made his move in the last 400 meters and finished second for the Continentals and 70th overall with a time of 26:07.2.
Ellis Goodson '27 also had a season-best performance and followed close behind Armstrong, placing 73rd in a time of 26:10.7.
Liam Card '27 finished just 1.6 seconds behind Goodson in 76
th place with a time of 26:12.3.
Drew Richardson '26, not wanting to be left out of the recap for the first time this season, pushed hard to finish in Hamilton's top five and finished 87th with a time of 26:23.9. Richardson edged
Zed McNaughton '27, who ended up 90
th in 26:25.9.
The Continentals recorded their best finish in three years with 265 team points and beat out a Trinity College (304 points) team that had previously been ranked higher. Tufts University won the team title with 30 points, Williams College came in second with 57 points and Amherst College placed third with 80.
Hamilton travels to Genesee Valley Park, where the Continentals already competed once this season, to run in the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 10:30 a.m.
