Hamilton College's
Bram Mansbach '24 finished in first place and the Continentals claimed the team title in the 2021 Hamilton Cross Country Short Course Tuneup on Saturday.
The Continentals -- ranked fifth in the Niagara Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association -- topped the nine-team field with just 22 points. SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry was runner-up with 68 points and SUNY Polytechnic finished third with 103 points.
Mansbach earned his first collegiate race win by completing the 5-kilometer course in 15:58.5.
Andrew Harrell '23 finished a close second to Mansbach with a time of 16:00.4, and
Nick Lyon '22 was fourth in the 87-runner field as he crossed the finish line in 16:12.9.
George Brady '23 ended up in seventh place with a time of 16:16.3, and
James Gallagher '24 rounded out Hamilton's top five in eighth place and a time of 16:21.9.
AJ Zuckerman '23 landed in ninth place in 16:28.7 and
Max Steffey '22 was 10th with a time of 16:39.5.
The Continentals compete in the 2021 NESCACÂ Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on Sunday, Oct. 31 at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn.
