Hamilton College's
Liza Greene '22 finished in first place for the second time in three weeks and the Continentals captured the team title in the 2021 Hamilton Cross Country Short Course Tuneup on Saturday morning.
The Continentals -- ranked seventh in the Niagara Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association -- took the top spot with 30 points. SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry was runner-up with 52 points and Russell Sage College was third in the seven-team field with 98.
Greene, who also raced to first place in the Hamilton Invitational on Oct. 9, posted a time of 15:14.7 on the 4-kilometer course.
Mia Schiel '22 landed in second place out of 72 finishers with a time of 15:27.3 and
Kylie Oblak '24 was third in 15:37.4.
Betsy Overstrum '24 gave the Continentals four runners in the top 10 as she finished 10th with a time of 15:58.3.
Maddie Foss '25 rounded out Hamilton's top five in 16th place and a time of 16:30.5.
The Continentals compete in the 2021 NESCACÂ Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on Sunday, Oct. 31 at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn.
