Hamilton College men's cross country finished in fifth place out of 33 teams in the 40th running of the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational at the National Warplane Museum on Saturday afternoon.
Max Staffey '22 led the Continentals in 26th place out of 404 finishers with a personal-record time of 25:40.2 on the 8-kilometer course.
Bram Mansbach '24 was next in 43rd place and a time of 26:05, and
Andrew Harrell '23 landed in 53rd place in 26:13.
George Brady '23 followed closely behind Harrell in 55th place with a time of 26:16.6 and
AJ Zuckerman '23 was right behind Brady in 56th place and a time of 26:20.2.
Brendan Magill '23 ended up 68th in 26:32.9 and
Nick Lyon '22 was 88th with a time of 26:51.1. The team's top seven runners all posted career-best times.
Hamilton, which received a vote in this week's Top 35 Division III coaches poll, recorded 220 team points. The nationally ranked No. 4 hosts captured the team title with 32 and No. 27 Middlebury College was runner-up with 78. No. 17 Otterbein University finished third with 91 points and Case Western Reserve University, which also received votes, was fourth with 137.
The Continentals host their own invitational on Saturday, Oct. 9, and the men's race is scheduled to start at noon.
