Continentals and Red Dragons play to scoreless tie

Box Score

The Hamilton College women's soccer team played host SUNY Oneonta to a scoreless tie through regulation and two overtime sessions Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game played at Oneonta's Red Dragon Field.

The Continentals (1-1-1 overall) outshot the host Red Dragons 15-9. Oneonta is now 2-2-2 on the season.

The game marked Hamilton's first scoreless tie since a 0-0 deadlock against Colby on Oct. 19, 2013 – 37 games ago.

Emily Dumont '18 made three saves in goal while recording her first career overtime shutout (and her second overall).

In the two overtimes the Continentals outshot Oneonta 5-2. Hamilton's most dangerous chance came in the final two minutes of the second overtime. Darby Philbrick '18 collected the ball inside the box and got off a shot that Emilie Mull had to dive for and deflect over the end line. On the ensuing corner kick, a shot by Ali Clarke '17 was blocked in front by an Oneonta defender.

Hamilton has a win and three ties in the last five meetings between the two teams.

The Continentals kick off a four-game homestand Saturday, facing Trinity College in an 11 a.m. game at Love Field in the first of two weekend contests.
