The Hamilton College women's tennis team played its final non-conference match of the regular season Saturday, breezing to a 7-2 win over Ithaca College. The Continentals improved to 13-5 overall; the Bombers, who are bound for the NCAA Championship Tournament after winning the Empire 8 conference's automatic bid, fell to 14-6.
Four Continentals were winners in both singles and doubles play, led by Isabella Schoning '16 who became the program's career leader in singles wins. Schoning won in straight sets at the fourth spot and is now 57-29 in her career (including an 18-6 mark this year).
Schoning teamed with Jane Bary '19 for an 8-1 win at third doubles; the pair are now 8-1 on the year. Bary was also a straight-set winner in singles action and is now 11-3 after her victory at number five.
Hamilton's other double winners were Jane Haffer '19 and Samantha Weeks '19. Haffer cruised to a straight-set second flight singles win that evened her record at 8-8. Weeks dropped just two games at number six in improving to 17-4.
Haffer and Weeks both helped their doubles teams to a 13th win; Haffer and Lindsay Jadow '19 are 13-9 after their 8-3 win at first doubles, and Weeks and Claire Keyte '17 own a 13-7 mark thanks to Saturday's victory at number two.
Hamilton returns to NESCAC competition Sunday hosting a 10 a.m. match against the Trinity College Bantams.
