The Hamilton College women's tennis team picked up its 10th win of the season, edging host William Smith 5-4 Wednesday evening in Geneva, N.Y. The Continentals, ranked 40th in the latest national poll, secured the win when Isabella Schoning '16 bested her fifth singles opponent in straight sets.
Schoning, one of Hamilton's three double winners, improved to 14-4 on the season with her sixth win in a row. In doubles action, she and Winnie Tang '17 won 8-0 at the third spot. The pairing has also won six consecutive matches.
Hamilton's other three points came from Claire Keyte '17 and Samantha Weeks '19. The two teamed for an 8-4 victory at second doubles and were both straight-set winners in singles competition. Keyte dropped just two games at the fourth slot to improve her season record to 8-7 and Weeks stretched her winning streak to eight with a 6-0, 6-1 win at number six. Her record is a team-best 14-1.
The Continentals are back in action Saturday, hosting Rochester Institute of Technology in a 10 a.m. match scheduled for Hamilton's Gray Tennis Courts.
