Lee '28 impressive on the first day at NCAA Women's Golf Championships

Sophomore shot a 3-over 75 and was tied for 34th place after 18 holes in California

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Hamilton College's Aubrey Lee '28 carded a 3-over-par round of 75 on the first day of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at Desert Willow Golf Resort on Tuesday morning, May 19.
 
Lee, who played the Mountain View course, was in a tie for 34th place out of 176 golfers. After 36 holes the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and the top six individuals not on one of those teams for the final two rounds.
 
Lee started her round on the seventh hole and proceeded to par her first 10 holes. After a bogey on No. 17, she parred the next three holes and was just 1-over through 14. Lee made bogey on the third and fifth holes before she finished her round with her 15th par of the day on the 455-yard, par-five sixth. The fifth was the hardest hole in Tuesday's first round at Mountain View, which was measured at 5,873 yards.
 
Lee will be in the first group off the first tee in the second round at the Firecliff course at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20. Wednesday's high temperature is supposed to reach the mid-90s. 

The 2026 all-NESCAC second team selection entered the NCAA championships with an 18-hole stroke average of 76.58 in 12 rounds. She's the first Hamilton women's golfer in the national tournament since 2023 and the second overall.
