Lee '28 wraps up NCAA Women's Golf Championships experience after 2 rounds

Sophomore carded a 4-over-par 76 and was tied for 44th place out of 176 golfers through 36 holes

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Hamilton College's Aubrey Lee '28 posted a 4-over-par round of 76 on the second day of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at Desert Willow Golf Resort on Wednesday morning, May 20.

Lee, who played the Firecliff course in the second round, was tied for 44th place out of 176 golfers at 7-over 151 through 36 holes. Despite the excellent performance, Lee missed the cut to move on to the third and fourth rounds by three shots. The field was cut to the top 15 teams and the top six individuals not on one of those teams for the final two rounds.

Lee started her round with a par on the first hole but made a double-bogey six on the 338-yard second. It was the only time she recorded a score worse than bogey during the two days. Lee went on to bogey the sixth, eighth and 11th holes.

Lee registered her lone birdie of the tournament on the par-four, 275-yard 15th hole. She finished the back nine with an even-par score of 36. The 15th was the easiest hole on Firecliff at just 0.09 above par during the first two rounds.

The 2026 all-NESCAC second team selection entered the NCAA championships with an 18-hole stroke average of 76.58 in 12 rounds. Lee was the first Hamilton women's golfer in the national tournament since 2023 and the second overall.
