WINDSOR, Conn. – Hamilton College's
Ramon Aroca Gonzalez '26 led the Continentals as they tied for seventh place out of 14 teams in the Trinity College/University of Hartford Invitational, which was held at Keney Park Golf Course on April 4 and 5.
Aroca Gonzalez finished in second place out of 78 golfers with a 36-hole total of 3-under-par 137. He posted a 70 on Saturday and a season-best 67 in Sunday's final round, and ended up as the top Division III finisher.
Gus Breuer '28, who was playing as an individual, and
Jake Hendelman '28 tied for 21
st place at 146. Breuer carded a collegiate-best 70 on Sunday and Hendelman tied a career-best with a 71 in his opening round. Hendelman's 36-hole score was his best at Hamilton.
Kyzar Joshi '27 fired rounds of 75 and 76 for a total of 151, and
Eric Soderberg '26 was one shot behind Joshi after rounds of 75 and 77.
Elliot Strickland '28 contributed a 77 on Sunday.
The Continentals were tied for fourth place after the first round with a four-person team score of 291. Hamilton was slightly higher at 295 on Sunday and finished at 586. Division I Hofstra University captured the team title at 567 and Bowdoin College was the runner-up at 573.
The Continentals compete in Skidmore College's Dr. Tim Brown Invitational on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12 at Ballston Spa Country Club.
