FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Jake Hendelman '28 tied for third place out of 96 golfers in the Farmingdale State College Men's Spring Invitational, which was held at Bethpage State Park's Red Course on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.
Hendelman tied a collegiate-best with a 1-under par 69 in the first round and added a 71 on Sunday for a 36-hole total of 140, which is his best for the Continentals. All but two of his 17 rounds have been under 80 this season.
Eric Soderberg '26 tied for 29
th place at 146 after rounds of 75 and 71. The 1-over 71 in the final round is his best at Hamilton.
Jonathan Moon '29, who was playing as an individual, tied for 36
th place one shot behind Soderberg at 147. Moon's 73 on Saturday tied his best 18-hole score this season.
Wyatt Lupo '29 finished strong with a 71 on Sunday and tied for 44
th place at 148.
Ramon Aroca Gonzalez '26 posted a 36-hole score of 151 (76-75) and extended his streak of rounds under 80 to 16 in a row.
Elliot Strickland '28 set season bests for 18 holes (final-round 73) and for 36 holes (156).
The Continentals were tied for 13
th place out of 16 teams after a four-person team score of 297 on Saturday. Hamilton shaved 11 shots off that team score for a 286 on Sunday and the Continentals landed in ninth place at 583. Babson College captured the team title at 565 and Amherst College was the runner-up at 568.
Hamilton competes in the 2026 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship at Fox Hopyard Golf Club in East Haddam, Conn., starting on Friday, April 24.
