Hamilton College women's rowing hosted the Hamilton Duels on Saturday, April 11 and traveled to a regatta hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Sunday, April 12.

The 10
th-ranked Continentals finished in third place in the varsity eight grand final but took first place in the second varsity eight grand final on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Saturday. Racing conditions on the 2,000-meter course included a 10-to-15 mph tailwind that built throughout the afternoon with occasional gusts.

Hamilton posted a time of 7:02.6 in the varsity eight grand final. Middlebury College was the race winner with a time of 6:50.6 and nationally ranked No. 5 Smith College was runner-up in 6:55.1.

The Continentals grabbed the top spot in the second varsity eight grand final with a time of 6:58.2. Smith took second place (7:05.16) and Middlebury was third (7:06.95).

Hamilton finished about 20 seconds behind Smith in the third varsity eight with a time of 7:32.78 in the first race of the day. The Continentals were able to defeat Smith's fourth varsity eight entry by more than seven seconds with a time of 7:27.72 in the afternoon.

Hamilton ended up fifth in the varsity eight grand final, fourth in the second varsity eight grand final and sixth in the third varsity eight race on Lake Quinsigamond in Massachusetts on Sunday. Racing conditions on the 2,000-meter, fully-buoyed championship course included a 5-to-8 mph headwind.

The Continentals recorded a time of 7:26.8 in the varsity eight grand final. No. 1 Trinity College was the race winner in 7:07.2. No. 8 Bates College, No. 4 Wellesley College and No. 9 William Smith College also competed.

Hamilton's time in the second varsity eight grand final was 7:35.0. Trinity was the winner again In 7:23.6.

Less than 19 seconds separated the six boats in the third varsity eight race. The Continentals registered a time of 7:48.5 while Bates finished first in 7:29.8.
