No. 11 women's rowing puts all three varsity boats in petite final races

Continentals finished sixth in NESCAC championship point standings

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Hamilton College Continentals finished in sixth place out of eight teams in the 2026 NESCAC Women's Rowing Championship and landed in ninth place out of 19 teams in the 2026 National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, May 10.
 
The NESCAC used a point system based on the results of the varsity eight and second varsity eight races to determine its champion. The results of all the races figured into the NIRC Women's Point Trophy team standings.
 
Hamilton, which was ranked 11th in the May 5 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division III Top 15 poll, finished in fourth place out of six boats in the varsity eight petite final with a time of 7:32.258. All six teams in the petite final were nationally ranked including Smith College, which finished first in 7:21.752. The Continentals posted a time of 7:31.885 in their heat Sunday morning. Bates College (7:15.312) and William Smith College (7:19.016) took the top two places and advanced to the grand final.
 
Hamilton finished in third place out of six boats in the second varsity eight petite final with a time of 7:48.670. Five of the six teams in the petite final were ranked including Wellesley College, which finished first in 7:45.768. The Continentals posted a time of 7:44.427 in their heat Sunday morning. Williams College (7:26.870) and Bates (7:33.508) took the top two places and advanced to the grand final.
 
Hamilton finished in fourth place out of seven boats in the third varsity eight petite final with a time of 8:31.119. Six of the seven teams in the petite final were ranked including Wesleyan University, which finished first in 8:09.525. The Continentals posted a time of 8:28.380 in their heat Sunday morning. Tufts University (7:34.501), Bates (7:43.189) and Wellesley (7:45.833) took the top three places and advanced to the grand final.
