Hamilton College men's rowing hosted the Hamilton Duels on Saturday, April 11 and traveled to a regatta hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) on Sunday, April 12.

The Continentals, who are ranked 10
th in the varsity eight, took first place in the grand final as well as the second varsity eight grand final on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Saturday. Racing conditions on the 2,000-meter course included a 10-to-15 mph tailwind that built throughout the afternoon with occasional gusts.

Hamilton posted a time of 5:56.47 in the varsity eight grand final and edged Middlebury College by about a half-second in a thrilling finish. The Continentals grabbed the top spot in the second varsity eight grand final with a time of 6:18.7. That race also went down to the wire as runner-up Skidmore College finished in 6:20.6.

Hamilton ended up second in the varsity eight and third in the second varsity eight on Lake Quinsigamond in Massachusetts on Sunday. Racing conditions on the 2,000-meter, fully-buoyed championship course included a 5-to-8 mph headwind.

The Continentals recorded a time of 6:22.73 in the varsity eight and No. 7 Bates College was the race winner in 6:19.83. No. 8 WPI finished 1.3 seconds behind Hamilton in third place and No. 13 Washington College landed in fourth place with a time of 6:36.43.

The Continentals' time in the second varsity eight was 6:49.6. Bates was the winner again in 6:26.8 and WPI was the runner-up with a time of 6:35.7.
