Kovach '28 picks up NESCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor for April 13

Sophomore tossed a nine-inning gem in a 6-2 win against Middlebury on April 12

Hamilton College's Mark Kovach '28 (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional HS) was selected the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week for Monday, April 13.

Kovach pitched all nine innings in a 6-2 win against Middlebury College on April 12. He struck out five, walked one, scattered seven hits and allowed one earned run. It was just the third nine-inning complete game by a Hamilton pitcher since 2013. Kovach's performance gave the Continentals their first NESCAC West Division series win against the Panthers since 2015.

Kovach is fourth in the conference with 37 strikeouts, tied for ninth with three wins and 13th with a 4.17 earned run average. He's the second Hamilton pitcher honored this spring after Aden Soroca '27 on March 23.

The Continentals (10-12, 5-4 NESCAC West) play doubleheaders at Bowdoin College on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.
