Continentals' top doubles pairing of Aadamsoo '28 and Mendieta '28 get a victory against No. 7 Bowdoin

Season Update

  • Hamilton (1-3, 0-2 NESCAC) is ranked 34th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Division III Top 40 coaches poll.
  • Colby (2-0, 1-0) started the spring season with a 7-0 win against Emerson College on Feb. 28.
  • Nationally ranked No. 7 Bowdoin (3-0, 2-0) has won its three matches by a combined score of 19-2 this spring.
 

How It Happened

  • The Mules won all three doubles matches and picked up the doubles team point.
  • Hamilton's Tarun Korwar '27 outlasted Bilal Asim in three sets after dropping the first one at No. 1 singles.
  • Akshat Dhull '29 won a tiebreaker in the first set at No. 6 singles and cruised in the second set as he handed the Continentals their second team point.
  • Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 and Lleyton Mendieta '28 teamed up for a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles against Bowdoin.
  • The Polar Bears won the other two doubles matches and clinched the team doubles point.
  • Bowdoin won all six singles matches, although the No. 2 singles match went three sets.
 

Notes

  • Korwar is 15-6 this season and 53-18 for his Hamilton career.
  • Dhull posted his fourth win this season and his first in dual matches this spring.
  • Aadamsoo and Mendieta improved their all-time record as a doubles pair to 32-15. They are 13-6 together this season.
 

Next Match

The Continentals travel to Florida for a series of matches at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. Their first matches are against George Fox University and Franklin & Marshall College on Wednesday, March 18.
