No. 18 women's golf places sixth at Williams Fall Invitational

Arasu '28 finished in the top 10 for the second straight week for the Continentals

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Hamilton College Continentals finished in sixth place out of 20 teams in the Williams College Fall Invitational, which was held at Taconic Golf Club on Sept. 27 and 28.
 
Shanya Arasu '28 led nationally ranked No. 18 Hamilton for the second week in a row as she tied for eighth place out of 98 golfers at 7-over par 149 after rounds of 73 and 76. Arasu racked up four birdies during the weekend.
 
Keira Joshi '27 moved up 40 places on Sunday into a tie for 21st at 152 after a 2-under 69, which was the first sub-70 round in team history. Joshi's 69 was the best score by any player in the second round.
 
Hellen Xiang '29, who was playing in her first collegiate event, carded rounds of 75 and 79 and tied for 26th at 154. Amy Lyon '28 and Peyton Sichol '26 tied for 50th at 160. Lyon fired a career-best 75 on Sunday while Sichol registered a 76 on Saturday.
 
The Continentals were in ninth place after Saturday's round with a four-person team score of 307. Hamilton moved up three spots on Sunday with a 299, which was the top score of all 20 teams in the final round, and finished at 606. Amherst College captured the team title at 587, New York University was the runner-up at 597 and Williams landed in third place at 600.
 
The Continentals host the Hamilton Fall Invitational at Rome Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5.
