ROME, N.Y. – Hamilton College and Rochester Institute of Technology split their two races in a head-to-head regatta on the Erie Canal on Saturday morning, April 12.
The Continentals took the top spot in the varsity eight with a time of 6:24.2, which was 19.9 seconds faster than RIT. Hamilton's varsity eight was ranked 10
th in the April 9 Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association/Intercollegiate Rowing Association Division III Top 15 poll, while RIT was receiving votes.
In the second varsity eight RIT edged the Continentals for the win by 2.4 seconds with a time of 6:57.8. This was the lone home event of the spring season for Hamilton.
The Continentals race against Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Bates College on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., on Sunday, April 13.
