Taft '27 earns all-NESCAC men's swimming and diving honors in three events

Sophomore was the conference's 2024 Rookie of the Year for the Continentals

Hamilton College's Nathaniel Taft '27 (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde HS) earned all-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) honors for his performance in three freestyle events in the 2025 NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championship at the Middlebury College Natatorium as the conference announced its year-end awards on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Taft, who was the 2024 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, made the all-conference list in three freestyle events last year as well. Any athlete who finishes in the top three of an individual or relay event is an all-conference performer.

Taft was runner-up in the 50 free with a time of 20.22 seconds on Feb. 21. He made an NCAA championships 'B' cut in the event with a time of 20.21 seconds during the preliminary heats.

Taft won the 200 free by nearly two seconds in 1:35.72 -- a time that broke his own team record -- on Feb. 22. That performance automatically qualified him for the NCAA meet in the event.

Taft finished second again in the 100 free in 43.85 seconds on Feb. 23. His time of 43.68 seconds in prelims was good enough for another NCAA championships 'B' cut.

The selection announcement for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 26.
