Taft '27 eighth in men's 100 free at swimming and diving championships

Sophomore competed in the championship finals of three freestyle events

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Hamilton College's Nathaniel Taft '27 finished in eighth place in the championship final of the men's 100-yard freestyle on the fourth and final day of the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships inside Greensboro Aquatic Center on Saturday night, March 22.
 
Taft posted a time of 44.38 seconds after qualifying for the championship final with the fourth-fastest performance of 43.80 seconds during the morning's preliminary heats. He entered the meet seeded sixth in the event with a season-best time of 43.68 seconds. Bates College's Max Cory won the race with an NCAA-record time of 42.88 seconds.
 
Taft was competing in the championship finals for the third time this week. He finished fourth in the 200 free on March 20 and seventh in the 50 free on March 19. Taft earned 38 team points by himself and put the Continentals in 22nd place in the final team standings. A total of 48 schools registered at least one point.
