SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Tarun Korwar '27 won two more matches and captured the singles draw title in the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Men's Northeast Regional Championships at Skidmore College on Sunday, Oct. 5.

Korwar is believed to be the first Hamilton men's tennis player to win an ITA regional singles crown. His win in the final was the 50th of his singles career with the Continentals. Korwar defeated Skidmore's Ege Topbas 6-2, 7-5 in the semifinals and cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Ithaca College's Ivan Kisic in the final.

The fantastic weekend run by doubles pairing Lleyton Mendieta '28 and Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 finally ended in the final on Sunday with a 6-3, 6-3 setback against Hobart College's Jacob Linares and Nick Fischer. Mendieta and Aadamsoo are 29-13 as a doubles team at Hamilton.

In the 'B' singles draw, Alejandro Fernandez '28 continued his strong fall season with two wins and an appearance in the semifinals. Fernandez, who is 9-4 in singles this season, defeated University of Rochester's Ethan Samora in the first round, 6-1, 4-6, and 10-8 in a third set super-tiebreaker. Fernandez also went to the super-tiebreaker as he rallied from a set down against Ithaca's Alex Mazza in the quarterfinals. He fell to Skidmore's Mahen Bitkuri in straight sets in the semifinals, and Bitkuri went on to win the singles title.

Fernandez and Filip Moller '29, who were playing together as a doubles team for the first time, took the 'B' flight title with four wins. They defeated Union College's Christian Crowder and Daniel Saxe 8-5 in the first round and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Aiden Atri and Cade Collingwood 8-6 in the quarterfinals. Fernandez and Moller took care of another Union pairing – Shreyas Kode and Alain Uzelac – in the semifinals, 8-5. Finally, they edged Rochester's Rahul Ravi and Josh Chu, 8-7 (4), in a tense and thrilling title match.
