SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Tarun Korwar '27 continued to rack up wins in singles play and the doubles pair of
Lleyton Mendieta '28 and
Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 advanced to the doubles final at the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men's Division III Northeast Regional Championships at Skidmore College on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Korwar, the second seed in the 64-player singles bracket, defeated Union College's Philip Simon 6-1, 7-5 in the third round. In the quarterfinals he cruised past Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Quoc-Uy Vo by scores of 6-3 and 6-2. Korwar will play against Skidmore's Mustafa Ege Topbas in the semifinals on Sunday, Oct. 5.
Mendieta and Aadamsoo defeated Rochester Institute of Technology's Yu Tanimoto and Alexander Sinclair 8-3 in a quarterfinal matchup. They then went up against another pair of Continentals,
Alexei Katelevsky '29 and
Antonio Chavez '28. Mendieta and Aadamsoo won the first set 6-2 and Katelevsky and Chavez answered in the second set, 6-1. Mendieta and Aadamsoo prevailed in the third set super-tiebreaker, 10-8. They try to complete their tournament run with a championship on Sunday when they play Hobart College's Jacob Linares and Nicholas Fischer in the final.
Before they lost in the semifinals, Katelevsky and Chavez knocked off Vassar College's Junchen Jia and Pedro Cattaruzzi 8-4 in the quarterfinals.
