SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Tarun Korwar '27 won his first two singles matches and two of the Continentals' doubles teams advanced to the quarterfinals at the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men's Division III Northeast Regional Championships hosted by Skidmore College on Friday, Oct. 3.
Korwar, who is seeded second in the 64-player singles draw, defeated New York University's Shido Ito by scores of 6-3 and 6-0 in the first round. He cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Rochester Institute of Technology's Evan Ly in the second round. Korwar plays in the third round on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Lleyton Mendieta '28 and
Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 are in the quarterfinals of the doubles draw after two wins. They took down The College of New Jersey's Siddharth Arudi and Nathan Chan 8-4, and breezed to an 8-1 triumph against Hobart College's Tejus Ranadive and Michael Georgelis. Mendieta and Aadamsoo play RIT's Yu Tanimoto and Alexander Sinclair in the quarters on Saturday.
Alexei Katelevsky '29 and
Antonio Chavez '28 also reached the quarterfinals after two impressive victories. They knocked off the second-seeded doubles pairing from Skidmore College by an 8-5 decision, and edged Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Tasmay Shah and Tsubasa Okada, 8-6. Katelevsky and Chavez take on Vassar College's Junchen Jia and Pedro Cattaruzzi in the quarters on Saturday.
Three Hamilton players won their first singles match before they fell in the second round.
Anson Anderson '26 outlasted RPI's Okada in a third set super-tiebreaker. Mendieta lost just one game against Union College's Jesus Alberto, and Aadamsoo dropped one game against Bard College's Thanasis Kostikas.
