POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Samantha Rainero '26 won all four of her doubles matches in the Vassar College Fall Scramble at the Richard L. Cretella Tennis Center on Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15.
Nine Continentals took on players from Vassar, Middlebury College and Smith College in singles and doubles competition during the two-day event. Hamilton's next tournament is the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional Championships. The three-day event begins on Saturday, Sept. 21 and is hosted by Skidmore, RPI and Union.
Rainero finished 4-0 in doubles play with three different partners. She was one of five Continentals who won two singles matches. The others were
Stephanie Pratt '25, Grace Qian '27, Kate Solowey '25 and
Muhan Cui '28. Cui played her first collegiate matches.
Hannah Apsey '25 recorded her 30
th career singles victory.
Apsey and Pratt went 3-2 as a doubles team and have an 18-11 career record at Hamilton. Apsey registered her 40
th doubles win and Pratt surpassed 30 career doubles victories.
Cui won three out of four matches in doubles, as did
Lila Freeman '26. Freeman had two career doubles wins going into the weekend.
Ally Turtledove '25 boasted a 3-2 doubles record and Solowey took two out of three.
