Hamilton College defender
Sami Quackenbush '24 (Marshfield, Mass./Tabor Academy) has been selected for the 2023-24 CCM Hockey/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Division III Women's Hockey All-America Team.
Quackenbush is one of six athletes on the second team in the East Region. The all-America honor is her first and brings the total to seven in Hamilton women's hockey team history. Six different Continentals have been all-Americans as goaltender Sam Walther '18 made the first team in 2016-17 and 2017-18.
Quackenbush, who was an all-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) first team honoree, finished with three goals and 13 assists for 16 points in 28 games. She posted a plus-7 plus/minus rating and blocked 26 shots. In a NESCAC championship semifinal against then-nationally ranked No. 3 Amherst College, Quackenbush scored a goal and had the primary assist on the other in Hamilton's 2-1 win.
Quackenbush finished her 75-game career with 33 points on seven goals and 26 assists. The Continentals posted a 50-23-8 record during Quackenbush's three seasons.
Quackenbush helped lead the Hamilton women to the NESCAC championship final for the second straight year. The eighth-ranked Continentals finished the season with a record of 16-7-6 after they received a second consecutive at-large bid to the NCAA championship. Hamilton defeated Nazareth University 2-1 in overtime in the first round and advanced to the quarterfinals. The Continentals reached the national semifinals in 2023.
