CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College was strong at the top and bottom of the ladder in the Continentals' 6-3 win over the Wesleyan University Cardinals inside Hamilton's Little Squash Center on Saturday, Jan. 20.
The Continentals (2-6 overall), who are 27
th in the College Squash Association Team Rankings, picked up their first victory against a NESCAC opponent this season. Wesleyan is ranked 29
th. Hamilton hosts Connecticut College and Colgate University on Saturday, Jan. 27 when the Continentals will recognize the members of the Class of 2024.
Hamilton's
William Rice '24 and
Tate Suratt '24 won in four games at the first and second positions, respectively. Rice collected his 11
th career win for the Continentals while Suratt evened his record at 4-4 this season.
Waleed Nisar '24 (sixth position),
Atreyus Bhavsar '26 (seventh),
Carlo Caffuzzi '27 (eighth) and
Tate Burgin '25 (ninth) swept their opponents in three games. Nisar won his ninth match at Hamilton and Bhavsar improved to a team-best record of 5-3 this season. Caffuzzi posted his third collegiate triumph and Burgin evened his record at 4-4 in 2023-24.
