SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Hamilton College men's tennis team went 16-7 in singles and doubles matches at the 2023 Union College Dutchmen Invitational, which was played at the Union Tennis Courts on Sept. 16 and 17.
St. Lawrence University also competed in the event, which featured 'A' and 'B' singles flights and a doubles bracket. Six Continentals participated in the tournament.
Connor Griff '25 won three matches and earned the 'A' flight title. Griff improved his record to 7-0 this fall with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over teammate
Anson Anderson '26 in the final.
Hamilton had three of the four semifinalists in the 'A' flight bracket. Anderson won three matches before he squared off with Griff. He cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 triumph against teammate
Coby Feldman '26 in the semifinals. Feldman defeated opponents from St. Lawrence and Union en route to the semifinals.
Ignatio Tran '27 won a pair of matches and advanced to the 'B' flight semifinals. Tran and
Charlie Sternberg '27 reached the doubles bracket semifinals after victories by scores of 8-5 and 8-4.
The Continentals compete in the Swarthmore/Haverford Invitational in suburban Philadelphia starting on Friday afternoon, Sept. 22. The event wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 24.
